Through the late 18th century, Zeidler was associated with Święta Góra in Greater Poland, where a church ensemble operated in the monastery of Oratorian Fathers. The composer provided the ensemble with his religious and liturgical compositions. This was by no means a provincial creation – Zeidler was inspired, among others, by Mozart's operas, which testifies to his open and modern approach to the compositional art.
This album presents three of these liturgical compositions: Veni Creator for soprano, choir and orchestra (including 2 flutes, 2 trumpets, strings, organ), an excerpt from Offertorium Missae – alto aria Omni die dic Marie accompanied by flute, strings and organ, and an extremely interesting arrangement of The Litany of Loreto for a four-voice vocal ensemble accompanied by 2 flutes, 2 horns, strings and organ. Zeidler's compositions are performed here by the Silesian Chamber Orchestra and the Katowice City Singers' Ensemble Camerata Silesia. The ensemble is led by conductor Michał Klauza.
Polish conductor Michał Klauza is Artistic Director of the Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw and Music Director of the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic in Białystok. Klauza studied at the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw and with Ilya Musin at the Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg State Conservatory. He joined Polish National Opera in 1998 and there conducted a range of operas and ballets. He has conducted orchestras including Sinfonia Varsovia, the Russian State Philiharmonic Orchestra and the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse. From 2005 to 2008 he was Associate Conductor for Welsh National Opera, with whom he conducted many operas and concerts. He has been Associate Conductor of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra since 2009, and Artistic Director of the Polish Radio Orchestra since 2015.
